Origami Diagrams and Instructions

Note: Although PopTopics has evolved to focuse more on popular news topics, this old school PopTopic about Origami was a favorite so we kept it around. Enjoy!

Note: I just stumbled upon a really neat origami site, the Origami Club. This has some real nice images and animations. I tend to have trouble following origami pictures, but the animations work real nice for me.

Of course there are many more great origami sites out there with loads of additional origami diagrams and paper folding instructions. If you want to find more then take a look at this Open Directory search for origami. If you tried to build all the origami diagrams found on those sites then you could be busy for years. Often times the links sections of origami sites yields even more sites with origami diagrams.

Now for the fun stuff. If you want to unleash some serious search power to quickly find the origami diagrams you are interested in then you will want to get familiar with Google's Image search. Try searching for phrases such as “origami frog” and “origami box“. This is a great way to quickly preview sites to see which ones provide quality origami instructions you can follow. Hint: Sites that have a picture of a finished origami shape on them will typically have the paper folding instructions near by. Also, when you find one origami diagram on a site, you can usually find more diagrams . . . origami diagrams like to travel in herds.
